On July 29th, 2023, Anna was invited to a birthday celebration at a bar where Mark happened to be spending the evening with his friends. The moment she saw him, she confidently told her friend that he would one day be “the father of her kids.” Those who know Anna well understand that she has always been both wonderfully dramatic and hopelessly romantic, always trusting her instincts when it comes to love. What she didn’t know then was that this time, she might be actually right.

Mark, on the other hand, did everything he could to avoid interacting with her, not because he wasn’t interested, but because timing — and a recently complicated romantic situation — seemed determined to test him. Still, by the end of the night, they exchanged contact information before going their separate ways.

Months passed without much contact, and despite trying not to think about her, Mark quickly realized she kept finding her way back into his thoughts.

By late January of 2024, he finally decided to reach back out to her, and that’s when their story truly began. But perhaps destiny and intuition had already made their decision from the very first meeting.

How We Met

The proposal

December 27th, 2025 - Central Park, NYC

It was supposed to be lunch in the city. At least, that's what Mark had told Annalucia.

What she didn't know was that he had been in Central Park a few weeks earlier, scouting for the perfect spot. He found it: a quiet stretch along the water with Belvedere Castle rising behind it, tucked behind a fence that happened to be closed off. A minor detail.

Snow had fallen overnight and transformed the entire park. Every branch was dusted white, the castle and the rocks were capped in snow, and the pond lay frozen and still. It felt like stepping into a postcard, one that would soon become theirs.

Mark had come prepared. With a pair of clippers hidden in his coat, he cut the zip ties on the closed-off fence and led Annalucia through twelve inches of fresh snow to the place he had chosen. She spent the entire walk telling him he was crazy. She wasn't entirely wrong. What she still didn't know was that a few of their closest friends were hidden nearby with cameras, capturing every second.

Then, he got down on one knee.

She said yes.

Before they knew it, people nearby were cheering and clapping for them. They ducked into the first bar they could find to celebrate with a glass of champagne. And then came one final surprise: Mark had arranged for their closest friends and family to be waiting at a restaurant, ready to celebrate a moment they already knew was coming, but one Annalucia never saw coming at all.

What started as a simple lunch in the city became the best day of their lives.
